On one of His visits to Jerusalem Jesus healed a paralyzed man at Bethesda's Pool, near the Sheep's Gate, which was fed from a
source that flooded it from time to time. When this happened, the first person to enter the pool right after the flooding would be cured of all illness. The paralyzed man, however, was never able to be first to enter the water. When Jesus visited the place, He said to the man: "Rise, take your bed and go" and the man immediately regained His Strength (John V).
The Pool of Bethesda is on the property of St. Anne's Church of the White Missionary Fathers of Africa. It is also known as Probatica.
